Presented by Josey Records *
with Paul Schalda and Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousine
plus DJ Sets from Luke Sardello
Josey Merch Pop-Up – (including Daniel Balis’ new solo project Sir Daniel, Esq, available for the first time and only at the show)
Schalda, best known for his work with Charles Bradley, Paul & The Tall Trees and The Sha La Das will be playing his first show in Dallas since opening up for the Black Pumas in 2020. He will be showcasing his recent music with Adrian Quesada and Robert Ellis and you’ll see the world premiere of the video for his Quesada collaboration “Joey.” Filmmaker Drew Castillo has taken the track and interpreted it without direction or influence from Paul and turned it into his own short narrative.
Michael Lee will kick down the door, bringing his bluesy funky soulful chops to the stage with a crew that features members of Bastards of Soul and Ghost-Note. If you don’t already know Michael from his stint on The Voice or his touring with B.B. King’s band, you probably know him from his cover of Dallas legend Bobby Patterson’s “I Get My Groove From You,” which has been in steady rotation on KXT since November. We’re told Patterson approves, by the way.
Plus Josey Records and Skylark Soul Co. Co-owner Luke Sardello will dig deep and play groove heavy cuts from his personal collection and the Josey crew will be in the house with a pop-up store.
Don’t miss this night of deep flavors and heavy grooves brought to you by Skylark Soul Co, one of the DFW’s most preeminent local record labels, home of Bastards of Soul, Silver Skylarks and now Paul Schalda and Michael Lee.
