West Texas Exiles

Featuring five musicians who grew up in El Paso, Lubbock and Amarillo, the West Texas Exiles draw upon the wide-open western reaches of the Lone Star State with a wide-ranging, Americana-centered sound. Rising from the embers of the Dirty River Boys, which Marco Gutierrez co-founded in 2009, the Austin band features a triple-threat of songwriters in Gutierrez, Daniel Davis and Colin Gilmore (son of legendary Texas troubadour Jimmie Dale Gilmore), plus seasoned bassist Eric Harrison and latter-day Dirty River Boys drummer Trinidad Leal. The Exiles' 2023 debut EP paved the way for their first full-length album, 8000 Days, due out later this year. The recordings build upon the live chops the group has honed through a weekly residency at Austin’s legendary Continental Club plus gigs at key local events such as SXSW and Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, as well as high-profile touring appearances at Nashville’s Americanafest, Braun Brothers Reunion and San Francisco’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival.

MADAM RADAR

Embracing the spirit of Americana with Rock n’ Roll sex appeal MADAM RADAR punches hard with their explosive harmonies, soaring guitar solos, and eclectic original tunes. The band is a tangled web of family and friends; Jace Cadle (rhythm guitar/vocals) is married to Kelly Green (lead guitar/vocals) who is the sister of Kody Lee (drums/vocals) who is married to Violet Lea (bass/vocals).

Fronted by the trio of Kelly, Violet, and Jace, MADAM RADAR is a revolving door of high-energy singer-songwriters, each with their own perspective and style that magically seem to overlap like the layers of a kaleidoscope. With all four members of the band providing harmonies, MADAM RADAR is a wall of colorful sound that changes shape, demanding your undivided attention.

Nobody knows that better than the West Texas Exiles. Love of music and a restlessness to wander from their hometowns of Lubbock, El Paso and Amarillo brought them together in Austin. With the release of their debut EP, Volume I, they showcased the talents of their three singer / songwriters: Marco Gutierrez, Daniel Davis, Colin Gilmore with masterful performances by bassist Eric Harrison and drummer Trinidad Leal. The band are now hard at work on their highly anticipated first ever full-length album, set to release in 2025. With influences from The Flatlanders and Buddy Holly to Vampire Weekend and Jason Isbell, they are reinvigorating the music scene with a modern interpretation of the lone star vernacular. They’ve quickly grown from their inception a couple of years ago, playing SXSW, AmericanaFest and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest and garnering national radio play. Plaudits like 2022 International Songwriting Competition spotlight their rhythmic and lyrically honest sound. The West Texas Exiles’ style truly evokes the ghosts of southwest Americana.

Collaboration is one of their passions and strengths: recording songs with Bowling for Soup’s Jaret Ray Reddick and The Voice finalist NOIVAS, direct tour support for Dave Alvin and backing Jimmie Dale Gilmore in 2023.

The Exiles have exponentially grown from their inception a little over a year ago, playing SXSW as official artists and Willie Nelson’s Luck reunion and garnering local, national, and international radio play – including Sirius XM. Plaudits like the 2022 International Songwriting Competition (Americana category) spotlight their rhythmic and lyrically honest sound.
